Owl You Doing?

Happy Black Friday! 

This is one day of the year I've just not liked since having babies.  I'm sure here in a couple years I'll be hitting all the sales.  I do enjoy having a day to rest and catch up on things around the holidays. 

Any-whoo!  I finally made an owl. 

It's a 3x3 card done quick and simple.  I punched 'thought bubbles' but I'm not sure anyone will understand my intent. I can't wait to make more of these cute guys!

I was afraid all these little pieces would be a greuling task to assemble, but it's not too bad.  The only thing I had to work at was the dot in the eye. 

The inside was quick and simple too.  I used my favorite new punch, the Decorative Label Punch.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey gals!

Happy Thanksgiving!  I thought oh, I'll have plenty of time to sneak in and post... haha!  I just put the kids to bed, and it's late!  The good news is, we're safe and warm and have plenty to be thankful for.

The past couple weeks have been very trying for our family and friends, so please keep me in your prayers!  My husband and I have a lot to deal with right now.  It seems we are under a dark rain cloud. 

So here's my thanksgiving card for you.  (I'm excitedly planning next years before I pack it away for a while.)

I decided to go a little unconventional and use a floral set.  I thought Vintage Vogue had been sitting lonely on my shelf for a while.  I love using the Rock & Roll technique with this set. 

I love these darling easel cards that stand up.  I decided to make it a wide one, so it is  a full 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  The easel part is 5 1/2" x 8'.  I scored it at 4 1/4" and 6 1/2". 

Folded up it looks like a normal card.  It's a simple, yet elegant card any mother of mine would love to receive.  ;)

Here's a close up of how it's propped up.  I've used different things, from a ribbon to a brad, and now here's using a dimensional on a stamped image. 

One last thing!  Found on page 188 in the cattie are Jewels.  These Basic Pearls are so fun and easy to use.  (Item number 119247- and you get 150 for only $4.95!)  Definitely a fav of mine.

Thankful For You

This was a kid's class I designed.  I am hoping there are not too many pieces.  It is a simple gluing project.  I included a couple pictures as a guide as well as teacher instructions.  (Obviously this is not my class.)

The request for for a gift they could make for their parents.  Food/candy projects were out, so I went with this this. 

I was thinking about offering this as an online class as well.   What do you think?  I could make different themes too.

It was hard for me not to sponge it and add Pearls and jazz it all up, but the kids can add their own extra special touches.  I kept the colors fall, but bright and child-like.

Autumn Splendor Box

Good Evening!

I have been working on projects for an event all night and can't wait to share them in a couple weeks. I hope you've all had a great day! Quick post tonight since it's so late. I just didn't have enough hours in the day today! This is a 'left-overs' box I made. I had all the pieces lying in front of me and thought, "Why not!"

I think it turned out pretty cute.  I plan on filling a cello bag with goodies and using it as a door prize.  I thought the clip would look cute holding the bag closed.

The box was left over from another project, so I just threw a few leaves on it to make it more festive.

Fall Favors

I just realized I've posted a few coordinating projects in a row.  I guess it's the weather here.  It's just now starting to cool off, which has been a beautiful season! 

This box is made from the fortune teller template (below).  I'm not sure where I first saw it a long time ago, but I finally got around to making them.  These are super easy to put together and make darling favors and treat baskets. 

I made this for a swap and put a few hershey's kisses inside.  What I like most about this project is that you can adjust the size to fit your purpose. 

I used the Scallop Square Clearz Die to cut this out, but you could use any size square really.  Then I scored it into thirds going in each direction as well as from corner to corner.  I punched holes in each corner for the ribbon.  Then I creased the folds and drew the corners to the center, ran ribbon through the holes and tied a bow.  This is so once you try it!

It's so nice to be back!  Truly a blessing!

I designed these bags for our annual Fall Festival at church.  I just love this Blessing Mix. I found the bags at a hobby store, but SU also has cello bags in 3 sizes.  I printed the verse and they came together rather quickly.  I also added a clothespin magnet as a little bonus.

Today I thought I'd share my File Folder Organizer.

I'm going to get my calendars finished up and up for you next week.  I also want to get a few Christmas projects up for you. But first I thought I'd go back a couple years to one of my first tutorials.  When I designed this tutorial it was because there was nothing like it on the web.  Now I am finding them popping up for sale, but I have a FREE download available!

I have so many inserts available in this kit, I am going to be redoing it soon.  So get it while you can for only $5!  The price will be going up in 2011!

Decor Elements Blocks

Good Evening!

I had a fun day at our mini retreat at church today, but I am worn out!  We made a little scrapbook to reflect on the year.  I cannot believe the year is almost over.  

Today I thought I'd share more samples from Regionals.  I loved these blocks!  I had no idea they were this big.  Even with the description in the catalog, I couldn't picture the size until I saw them. (They can be found in the mini catalog on page 30.)  I love that they are made of MDF, and will last for years!  I can't wait until mine arrive. This first sample features Autumn Meadows DSP.
