Sweet Blossoms

When I saw this image in the Easter Blossoms set I just had to get it.  Not quite an Easter card, but definitely springy. 

I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake to add the vintage look.  I'm indifferent on the pearls on the corner.  Maybe they should be larger.  The butterfly balances out the white ribbon.  And I just love this new Framed Tulips embossing folder; I was able to emboss the card front, instead of layering it.

Springtime Smiles

I am having a blast stamping. I have several sets I haven't even touched, and I can't wait to play, I mean work.  I love my job!

Hey stampers!  I hope you had a blessed Easter.  Quick post tonight. 

I had a great day with my kids.  I love the excitement they share, as everything surprises them.  My boys were eating lunch after church and my 5 year old says sadly, "I think the Easter bunny forgot to come to our house."  I hadn't put the baskets out yet.  I have such a hard time with when to give them to them because they are so little, its a distraction getting ready in the morning.  Any suggestions?

Stamp Crazy Fun!

Stamp Crazy Girls is my upline's group name (BTW).  And these were the adorable projects we made last month.  I was excited to go again today!  Local ladies, if you'd like to join me to check it out let me know!!  I'm always looking for new team members to mentor! These projects feature new products from the Occasions Mini Catalog which ends April 30th.  I simply can't pick a favorite!  This is just a darling group of cards.

These first three feature Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, which is much cuter in person.  The sentiments from Well Scripted and Little angel are also too cute.  All the projects use Sweet Pea DSP as well.

The technique used on this card is faux suede.  This technique adds a soft, subtle dimension to your projects.  The large flowers are the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch.

I simply love the bird clip!  It's the Extra Large Two Step Bird Punch. (An SU exclusive!)  That darling envelope is a Small Square Glassine Envelope on page 19.  It holds a Sending Love Notes "Kisses" inside.

Quick Chicks

I wasn't sure if I should even post this project because it was SO simple.  It's another Stampabilities stamp from Hobby Lobby.  I couldn't help myself with this one.  He is one cute chick! 

So, pretty self explanatory.  I stamped, punched and strung it on a little cello bag.  I think pink is my favorite.  I think I'll pull this one out again for Breast Cancer Awareness.

More Envie Baskets

I finally finished all my Easter projects!  We're attending an egg hunt tomorrow, and the weather looks perfect.  I ended up making a dozen or so of these.  I wish I would have added glitter to the smaller ones- it looks awesome on there. 

I painted some of the eggs with the aqua painter for a lighter look.  I am getting different opinions about them being lighter and darker.  I outlined the last one I showed you.  I decided to leave it posted as well. 

I wanted to show you the contents as well.  I fit a bookmark, bag of jelly beans, bag of m&ms, a few starburst, and a couple other small candies inside.  I think this is a perfect project for a classroom or small group favor.  Quick and inexpensive!

I have to get the boys down now, then I hope to show you one last project a threw together for Easter.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Good Morning!
I had such a great day yesterday!  But now I've got a day of catch up!  I'm so blessed to love what I do! 

Today is another quick Easter card.  I am in such a Spring mood lately.  Maybe because it's been so cold here in Kansas.  Yesterday was gorgeous though!  The weather on my birthday ranges from snowy to 100 degrees.  I don't mind the rainy years, but 70 and sunny is always my favorite.

A Little Something...

Good Evening!
I'm back to Easter projects.  I saw this stamp at the store the other day and just had to have little MudPie.

The card is 4" x 4".  I used several techniques to add depth.  I crinkled up the second layer and used Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder as well.  I don't use these square Rhinestone Brads very often, but they added the perfect touch!  And, I'm not sure how well I captured it, but I added Crystal Effects to the jellybeans, which really draws your eye.

I mimicked the front pattern inside.  I did try to tone it down a bit.  The stamp is retired from Best Yet.

3 IN 1 BASKET

When I think of Easter, I think of baskets.
(I have seen these baskets everywhere!  I am not sure who to give credit to for the original design, sorry!)

I hope you enjoy today's project.  I finally completed my tutorial.  It was thrown together quickly, so please let me know if I missed anything!

It was not intentional, but this embellishment seems to have an Indian feel to it.  I used a reinker to die a baja felt fusion flower.  If you try this, dilute a couple drops of ink and soak the flower in it.  I used my heat gun to dry it quickly.

Surprisingly, the square box holds the eggs VERY nicely.  I also love egg baskets because my favorite Easter candy is Cadbury Eggs.

The green basket is embellished with the Pretties 1/2 back pearl and a flower.  I also added a touch of Taffeta Ribbon to the handle. 

The polka dot basket is embellished with a Pretties flower, which has been colored with Pastels and embossed with Iridescent Ice and attached with a Rhinestone Brad.  The leaves are actually a heart from the Heart to Heart Punch. 

 

I like this basket without a handle as well.  But I thought for Easter a handle was good.  I embellished this basket a felt fusion flower, a green galore button and a rhinestone brad.  I like the basket on the right better.  What do you think?

I love versatility in patterns.  I tend to change things around to fit my particular need, especially for gifts.  I had this basket in mind for Easter.  My kids will be handing out hand-painted eggs, and I thought a basket would be a nice accompaniment.

Baby Wipe Technique- Part 1

How are you all doing tonight?  I thought this technique was perfect for Easter eggs.  It is my first time trying it, and I think it turned out pretty good.  The outline stamps are harder to see and the pink got washed out on most of the images, but overall it was fun.

Baby Wipe Technique

Super easy!  Put a few droppers of reinkers on a baby wipe to use as an ink pad.  Quick tip- use Stampin' Mist if it dries up and use it again!  Oh, just think of the possibilities with this one!  I just want to do it in so many combinations.  I will definitely have to come up with a class for this one. 

I have a bit of trimming to do to mount these images.  I'll start with the bunnies for this week's blog candy basket.  The egg and bunny stamp are from a Hobby Lobby set and the others are Stampin' Up.  I thought I'd make the blog candy baskets 3x3 so I could add a bit more to the prize. 

Thank you for all the great comments!  I'm just now getting to my tutorial.  I don't mean to drag it out, but I had a very unexpected bout of dizziness today which kept me off my feet.  I've never experienced anything like this and I'm not sure what's causing it.  I'll check with my doctor on Thursday and hopefully it'll be nothing.

Green Eggs?

Good afternoon!  Okay, I didn't think this one through completely.  I am sort of rushed today.  Prepping hubby's birthday last minute.  I am running behind for our engagement this evening as well, so I will update sometime tomorrow.  With that being said, I wanted to share an Easter basket idea you can mail! 

I love these little baskets!  They are great for and occasion, and very easy to make.  I thought of my brothers in the army and away at school.  I can send them an Easter greeting, and hopefully make them a little less homesick around the holidays.  To make one of your own, any envelope will do-  I used a standard A2 (4 1/2x 5 3/4).  Simply lick and seal the envelope, then punch the corners.  I used the Tag Punch on this one, but play around with it and I'm sure you'll find other fun shaped baskets.  Now to find a larger envelope to mail it in...

Big Shot Baskets

Easter is April 12th this year! 

Here a couple Big Shot projects I made using SU's Tea Party Designer Series Paper.  I love using double-sided paper on projects that show a fun pattern inside as well. 

This first project is a small white bag from Michael's with a Top Notes front and back.  I trimmed 4" off the top of the bag, adhered one side, then the other.  While the bag was still flat, I punched the handle using the Oval Punch.  The tag is a leftover I had from the Baskets & Blooms die.  The sentiment is from All Holidays.  I wrapped the Natural Hemp Twine through the Saffron ribbon on the handle.  The cute little basket I stamped in Apricot Appeal and used my Aquapainter to color it in using coordinating colors Pretty In Pink and Certainly Celery.  I cut it out with a slight border to create balance with the white remaining inside the basket.  It doesn't show well, but I also added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the bird and the flowers.  That cute little image is from the new A Flower For All Seasons set available for only $14.95. 

Here is a quick side view of the bag.

This cute little basket is made using the Big Shot and the Baskets & Blooms die.  The tag is stamped using a retired image, I think it is Tags So Much, and attached using 1/4" Apricot Appeal Grosgrain ribbon.  Those cute little eggs are M&Ms!  I was eggcited to find them!  I shredded a bit of Certainly Celery CS for the filler.

Here is a close up of the tag.  I cut another bunny out in white and popped it up.

BIG SHOT QUICK TIP:  Baskets & Blooms
My upline, Shelly, showed me a tip when assembling the Basket.  Place sticky strip along the 2 sides as usual.  Adhere one side to the other, but before you adhere the second side, place sticky strip inside along the bottom to attach the bottom piece to.  Remove the film covering inside and then adhere the second side together.  Now, using your bone folder, press the bottom piece down into the center.  Press the tabs against the sides and voila!  No bumps or wrinkles!

Easter Sneaks and Ghiradelli Box

Oh my!  I had quite the day!  My boys are sick AGAIN!  I can't remember a time when we've gotten ill so frequently.  Thank goodness it's only colds.  I've felt it a bit the past couple days, but I feel almost silly going back and forth wiping their noses.  Anyway, so sorry I couldn't get on to post earlier in the day.  I'm going to work on tomorrow's post as well, so hopefully this won't happen again.

Here's a little sneak peek of this weekend.  I was sad to not get all my St. Patrick's projects completed, so I thought I'd better jump on Easter!  I decided to start with a few basic 'basket' ideas.  I haven't been out to grab my candy supply yet, so there will be more to come! 

I know I've already made a few of these cute Ghiradelli boxes, but here's one more for Easter!  I will show it again once I've filled it.  I also wanted to share the pattern with you.  I found it HERE on Splitcoast Stampers.  I altered this one a bit to leave off the lid.  The full measurements are 5" x 4 1/4".  The score lines are all the same. 

 There is some much to say about this basket, I'm not sure where to begin.  I guess I'll begin with the flowers.  They are made using the Big Shot Flowers Sizzlit Die.  I love this die!  I used it for a quick wrap around, as well as the handle.  When I attached the handle to the box with the Rhinestone Brad, I punched a hole through the box and took advantage of the hole in the center of the flowers and simply trimmed the flowers to a proper length.  I used a couple left over flowers to embellish the front. 
The back is simple, but I did add a few pink rhinestones to the center of the flowers.  (I found them at Hobby Lobby.)
Oh, and the handle swivels very nicely because it's attached with brads. 
This is such a fun basket!  How cute would this idea be for wedding favors!  I know, I'm getting ahead of myself.  I wish I was stamping when I got married!
