Reece's Cups 3 in 1
Good day to you all! I must begin by saying THANK YOU! I have received so many kind comments and emails about my blog. If you notice something you'd like to see more of, or a tutorial you'd like, just let me know and I'll see what I can do! After all, this isn't all about me. ;-)
I am also anxious to begin sharing my Christmas projects with you! I have SO many fun things planned for the next few months. Hopefully I will have my schedule typed up to share with you next weekend. For now, let's get to the CANDY!
Oh, one more thing... I got behind running errands today, so I hope to have this quick tutorial turned into a nice print-out soon! It will be better with pictures!
Reece's Cup 3 in 1 Tutorial
I must say I was inspired by Regina to create these. Day 2 I asked what your favorite candy was, and this is hers. It's not too late to submit an answer... whose what else I may come up with.
For the sample I used Batty for You stamps, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Summer Sun. The Ribbon is Pumpkin Pie 1/4 grosgrain. Oh, and I used the slot punch to run the ribbon.
Okay, there are a few variances between the boxes, so I decided to write up each one separately so there would be less confusion. A video would be best for this I think. I'll try to get one up soon as well.
I'll begin with the pouch in front with the candy peeking out.
1. Cut a piece of paper to 6 1/2 x 3 1/2. *I used card stock, but DSP would work just fine.
2. Score long side at 2 1/4, 2 7/8, 5 1/8 and 5 3/4.
3. Score down the middle of both short sides about 1/2 inch on both ends. This will allow it to pinch together more easily.
4. Next you'll want to crimp the bottom. Either end will do. Turn the handle 3 times. (The purpose for crimping now is that the ends will be 4 layers thick and will not crimp properly once sealed.)
5. Once it is crimped, add adhesive to the crimped edge and down the back seam. Seal.
6. Fold wrapper flat and punch about 1/4 inch down in the center using the horizontal slot punch.
7. Holding closed, run a 12 inch piece of ribbon through the slot holes.
8. Insert candy on top of ribbon, pushing it to the bottom. Tie a bow.
Candy should now slide up when you pull on the ribbon.
Next I'll vary it a bit for the standing bag-box.
1. Cut a piece of paper to 6 1/2 x 3 1/2. *I used card stock, but DSP would work just fine.
2. Score long side at 2 1/4, 2 7/8, 5 1/8 and 5 3/4.
3. OPTIONAL: Score down the middle of both short sides about 1/2 inch on one end. This will allow it to pinch together more easily.
4. Turn and score one end at 1/2 inch. (This will become the box bottom.)
5. Snip seams on both small scored squares to create tabs.
6. Add adhesive down back seam. Seal.
7. Fold tabs in, then fold up box bottom. Seal.
6. Punch about 1/4 inch down in the center using the horizontal slot punch.
7. Run ribbon as above or simply tie closed with a 4 inch piece of ribbon. *Don't forget the candy!
The 3rd wrapper is very similar to the first. It is just 1 inch longer.
1. Cut a piece of paper to 6 1/2 x 4 1/2. *I used card stock, but DSP would work just fine.
2. Score long side at 2 1/4, 2 7/8, 5 1/8 and 5 3/4.
3. Score down the middle of both short sides about 1/2 inch on both ends. This will allow it to pinch together more easily.
4. Next you'll want to crimp both ends. Turn the handle 3 times. (The purpose for crimping now is that the ends will be 4 layers thick and will not crimp properly once sealed.)
5. Once it is crimped, add adhesive to one crimped edge and down the back seam. Seal.
6. Insert candy. Seal other edge.
I embellished the fronts with a simple scallop circle punch. On the 3rd design, I added a 1 inch band around the center.
Voila! 3 in 1! I hope you enjoy making them as much as I did!
See you tomorrow for Frankie Friday!
Thanks for stopping by!
